I never know what to say when revealing a room remodel.
Do I give all the details about what I did?
Um, paint. Sew a little. Buy a rug. Make the bed …
Do I embarrass myself with an admission about how long it took me to finish this project?
Five years and counting …
Do I share how I’ve never really decorated the master?
We just purchased a matchy-matchy bedroom set when we moved in and plunked it down.
Do I share how the idea of painting the vaulted ceiling was such a daunting task that it left me paralyzed?
Until two years ago when I tackled my daunting task!
And, most importantly, does anyone really even read the words that go along with a room reveal?
Knock. Knock. Is anyone still reading?
I already shared the IKEA Tarva dresser makeover {click here}
And that’s it.
My 5+ years in the making master bedroom remodel! That’s when I decided on the blue and white and brown color combination.
Thanks for reading …

Thanks so much Karen! 🙂

I read. But it’s my “thing” to read. I am totally weird that way! I love it–it’s very peaceful, which is what one wants in a bedroom. I plan to tackle mine this summer, but just up to a point. We need closets, but they will have to be custom, and there’s no budget for that at this time.

You have such a fun sense of style, Linda. And yes, I read the whole thing. 🙂 Our master has an under-the-eaves ceiling too, but not as high as yours so it’s easier to paint. Your master bedroom is pretty!

Yes, I always read everything in a post about a room reveal– the process and details are what make every reveal unique. Well-done!! 🙂

It’s so calming, love the blue! Even though I’d hate to paint it, I wish my bedroom had your awesome vaulted ceiling 🙂
Happy Monday!

Oh yes! I read it all!! Its elegant and soothing. And I’d guess that your design changed in that five years and once you started, the vision kept building!! I saw the dresser all over! I couldn’t believe the before and after. And I read its a stencil!!! on your back wall. Wow!!! Congratulations. Also I’m happy to be getting posts again 🙂

LOVE it!!!! Especially the wall…and the rug…and the bed. I’ve always had a problem with vaulted ceilings is it ALL ceiling? Part wall? Trust me, it”s enough to make me stop before I ever start! Yep, I’m still reading…Congrat’s to you on the big reveal! Lunch soon?

I’m waiting for the punch line to the knock knock joke. And while I’m waiting, the bedroom looks great, I even read the comments.

Would you be less embarrassed if I told you that my master bedroom renovation has been on the back burner for 7 years? Ugh-just too many other projects coming first. But your finished space is calm and pretty now. Would love for you to share at Fridays Unfolded this week!

Hey Linda. Been a long time – actually nearly as long ago as when you first started planning your bedroom makeover…. I’m like the cherry wood furniture set you may have owned from Sears. Anywho, looks great.

Hi Linda,
I love color of your curtains..Where can I buy those or where can I buy a fabric you used?
Linda says
I found that fabric about 8 years ago at a place called Vogue Fabrics in Evanston, IL. It’s like a fabric outlet that sells giant bolts of fabric.
Monika says
I knew about that store, because I live not far ,but never went there. Now I will go check it out. Thanks!
Linda says
Monika,
It’s worth the trip. I’ve found $1 a yard fabric there (which was just about what I paid for the curtain fabric in my room). Good luck! 🙂 Linda

I’m a “reader” too. I had a vaulted bedroom as a kid,, but it wasn’t nearly this large. It was an attic afterthought by the previous owners before my parents bought the house. It was a long room and the side walls were not equal – one was about 3.5′ high and the other was only about 4′ high. It was cozy enough, but would have loved for it to look this good.
