I was afraid of my new thermostat.
Okay, afraid may not be the right word. More like intimidated …
at first.
I mean, it’s called the Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat with Voice Control. Right there in the name it’s telling me it’s smart. So I automatically assumed it was much smarter than me …
because clearly it’s high tech. And I, well, I defintely skew low-tech …
And then Honeywell tells me this Wi-Fi thermostat listens, learns, and saves. I mean, it’s one thing to be able to change the temperature by a single, multiple, or specific degree with a voice command. Or that I can just say “I’m feeling cold” and it will adjust to make the room one degree warmer …
but it learns too? And saves those things it learns about us?
Turns out it has something called Smart Response that can learn our heating and cooling cycle times to deliver the right temperature, right when we want it.
Yep. It’s true. This Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat with Voice Control is so, soooo much smarter than me –even on my smartest of days!
And at his point I was officially afraid to open the box. And set it up on my own …
But you know what? Those fears were completely unfounded. This thermostat is nice. It’s friendly. It easily walked me through the set-up process. The menu is easy to navigate. The Wi-Fi is easy to connect … and controlling the temperature using Honeywell’s free iOS and Android mobile app was easy too. The Voice Control really does work. Oh, and I didn’t even share the best part …
you can change the color of the screen to match your décor!
That’s right, my favorite part of this thermostat is the low-tech part …
😉
So now my biggest challenge is deciding on a color. Blue really does work best with the room’s décor …
And I can customize the blue even further, including background and font color …
But wouldn’t it be fun to coordinate colors with the seasons? Like red and green during the holidays …
Maybe sunny yellow in the summer …
You know what, I think I may just change it daily to match my mood!
And guess what? You, too, can get a thermostat that can change colors to match your mood. Or decor …
or both!
Honeywell wants to give away one of these amazing hi-tech thermostats to one of my readers! Just leave a comment telling me what color scheme you’d choose for your screen …

Since we are about to build our retirement home, we will definitely be needing one with our new HVAC. If I could make it happen, I’d have the color change with the temperature.
