Pottery Barn-Inspired Acorn Mason Jar Votives DIY Tutorial.
Have you heard of Pinterest? Wait. Stop. I take that question back. To amend it …
to ask if you’ve ever been on Pinterest?
If you have, you know that it can suck you in …
with beautiful pictures …
and amazing project ideas …
inspiration in spades …
oh, and let’s not forget about some of the weird stuff … lots of tattoos and piercings … and people who have boards labeled “Men” where they pin pictures of handsome men … hmmmm ….
But for the home décor enthusiast, Pinterest is like every single fabulous glossy magazine and catalogue rolled up into one spectacular place.
And while Pinterest is chock full of inspiration, I also find it intimidating at times. Overwhelming. So many things I want to do and create and recreate. So little time.
Which is why I chose this project …
for it’s ease.
It was inspired by a pin from Pottery Barn that caught my eye …
and then recreated by my friend Debbie at Confessions of a Plate Addict. Which I featured on the Mason Jar Crafts Love blog last week.
To be honest, this acorn mason jar votives project has been on my greatest hits list for quite some time now …
How to Make a Pottery Barn-Inspired Acorn Mason Jar VotiveS
1. Gather your materials.
Mason Jar {found mine at the dollar store}
Faux Acorns {found mine on Amazon.com}
Tea Lights {found mine in a drawer in the kitchen}
Tea Light Votive {found mine stored away in the basement after I first found them at Pier One}
2. Put Tea Light Votive in Center of Mason Jar.
3. Put Tea Light in Tea Light Votive.
Aren’t you glad I showed you this very complicated step!
4. Place Faux Acorns Around Tea Light.
5. Continue to Stack Faux Acorns Around Tea Light …
6. And You’re Done.
One project down …
only three-thousand-and-growing-daily left to go.

Hi there, I LOVE your ideas!! I love this jar you used….does it have a certain name? Who is it made by Kerr, Mason, etc?

Donna,
Thank you so much! I’m not sure what this jar would be called. I actually found it at the Dollar store. I’ve seen similar jars at Hobby Lobby and Michaels and The Container Store and on the shelves at Target. Ball brands also sells a similar shaped one (but with the screw on lid) that you can find at their Jarden brands website (www.freshpreservingstore.com). I found the Ball version at my Target too. Hope that helps! 🙂 Linda
