I noticed that Linda has constructed a ‘command center’ for our niece Sandra. Even as I wrote that, I knew that no one would believe that I would simply ‘notice’ something that Linda had done and written about on her blog.
Did I just stumble across it? No. Of course she told me about it! We do occasionally talk, after all.
Sometimes we ‘talk’ about my use of ‘quotation’ ‘marks.’ I think I use them ‘less’ than she uses ‘salt.’
Speaking of salt, my contribution to home improvement Friday evening was to shovel the back and front walks and then throw on some Morton’s Safe-T-Salt because the temperature was supposed to drop to about 10 degrees overnight. I admired my hard work with a cold beer that was so cold it had ice crystals in it. At least I think that is what was crunchy in there.
I like the little Morton’s girl logo, because it harkens back to a time when a child bearing salt with the slogan, “When it rains, it pours,” made sense and people didn’t make weird fun of it. Simple stuff.
Like the Hostess Ding Dong commercials from the 1970s, when cartoon spokesperson King Ding Dong told his subjects, “Eat more Ding Dongs – I command you!”
Yes, it was odd that King Ding Dong was essentially telling his people to eat him or themselves – and they were all indeed delicious! – but look, I found a way to connect back to Linda’s ‘command center.’
But if I am honest, her ‘command center’ is really our house, as I’m happily at her command.
‘Sometimes.’

Nice to her from you, Mike! He does resemble Robert Redford in the photo 😮 I’m following you on Linky, I’m starting to switch everyone over to my reading list via Linky. Have a great week, Linda!

Nice to “meet” you Mike! (Linda that 1976 photo rocks!)
I just adore the Morton Salt girl. Chicago has so many icons that make me all warm and fuzzy. Magikist lips sign – always made me feel like we would be home soon. Canfield’s soda – the chocolate one – was such a treat. Sure, it was horrible, but it was chocolate, so we had to love it!

I will switch to linky just to look at this picture of your husband. In 1976, I would have loved him. But I was pretty gross in 1976 (fat, pimply, braces, glasses), so it would have been a one-sided thing.

Ah, the 70’s – wish we had a shot of what Mike was wearing (I’m picturing lots of polyester, maybe even a John Travola like suit)! Then he could break out his Bee Gee’s tunes! Wonder if my hubs would let me share the pic of him in a toga from back in the day?!
