Decorating the Kitchen for Christmas with Mini Wreaths – Red Velvet Ribbon on Wreaths
It’s that blogger holiday home tour time of year again! Today I’m joining the fabulous Marty at A Stroll Thru Life for the final day of her annual holiday home tour.
With an extra special shout out to AnnMarie at Anne at Simply 2 Moms for jumping in and organizing this year’s event as Marty recuperates from what she calls “a little surgery.”
Which to me — a hospitable-phobe — sounds pretty major!
If you found yourself here from Shiplap and Shells, may I extend a huge welcome to my home and my blog! I just love Kim’s 100-year-old beach house all spruced up for the holidays! She has such amazing style (not to mention an adorable pup)!
Now on to my tour …
I have to fess up when I put together my Christmas kitchen — and took these pics — I was in a Dayquil-Cough-Syrup-Tylenol haze.
And at this point in my story, I feel a little ashamed even talking about my head cold compared to Marty’s “a little surgery.” 😉
And when my head cold finally cleared about a week later, I wasn’t too sure what I might find in my camera roll.
Oh, and I chose to share my decorated kitchen this year because in my Dayquil-Cough-Syrup-Tylenol haze I knew I could actually pull this room together easily. Mostly because I’ve fined tuned the elements that go into my Christmas kitchen over the last 28 (!) years.
Like take the little wreaths tied with ribbon on the cabinet doors. This has been my go-to since the beginning. Though the ribbon does change from time to time. This year I went with a deep red velvet ribbon with a relaxed bow look.
In the name of honesty, it took some work to get the relaxed bow to look perfectly relaxed. My Dayquil-Cough-Syrup-Tylenol brain did struggle a bit. Until I found the perfect Tik Tok that showed me the way to tying the perfectly relaxed bow.
Even if I did have to watch it like 20 times.
Which I’m 100% blaming on my Dayquil-Cough-Syrup-Tylenol infused fugue state. 😉
And then there’s the Reindeer Feed sign. I made that a couple of years ago (click here) and it still tickles my Christmas fancy!
Here’s a corner of the kitchen that I don’t think I’ve ever shared. It’s not too exciting … except for that little lamp in the corner. It’s a new addition that gives a perfect, warm, holiday glow in the evenings.
I did manage to put up the Christmas countdown calendar (you can see versions here and here). I did a little mix and match and added a velvet ribbon and voila!
Some Christmas balls in the veggie basket always gives a festive feel to the little table that I tiled like a hundred years ago.
And over the sink I added faux greens and candles and some ornaments to my wooden crate.
That’s about it. Thankfully the Dayquil-Cough-Syrup-Tylenol fog has finally dissipated (with a few left over nose blows and coughs) and I’m hard at work on the rest of my Christmas interior … and exterior.
Next up on this final day of the 2023 holiday home week is White Arrows Home. You’re going to adore Kristin’s cozy north woods home — that’s Wisconsin-speak for those not from the Midwest — all spruced up for Christmas! Just click here …
