I envy my daughter.
And not for the reasons you might think …
Not her youth.
Not her peaches and cream complexion.
Not her wide-eyed curiosity for the world around her … and for finding herself as an emerging young adult in that world.
And definitely not her freshman year in high school. 😉
No, I envy her because she is still two seasons behind on Downton Abbey.
Sigh.
And while she knows our beloved series has come to its end, she is still blissfully removed from those feelings of mourning …
She knows not what an empty place Sundays evenings have become. Void of anticipation. Void of that magical musical score. Void of the wondrous shot of a dog’s behind. The tinkling of the bell. The bustling of the downstairs staff as Downton springs to life …
Double sigh.
So I find solace in talks of a potential Downton movie. And that Game of Thrones is just a few short weeks away …
and adding some touches of Spring around the house.
I’ll be sharing more next week as part of a Spring home tour event. So be sure to check back. And I’ll give you a hint about what you can expect to see …
yellow.
Some might say the color was inspired by a certain yellow lab. 🙂
I’m sad that Downton Abbey is over, too. I hadn’t heard about a potential movie, so that info is something to hope for!! Your photos are great and YELLOW is so fresh and motivating – can’t wait…
*sniff*
I myself found a lot of solace in the fairytale series finale. Best ever. Yellow is going to be perfect.
Yes…Sunday evenings will never be the same! But, with a movie…we at least have some thing to look forward to. And remember…there is Poldark coming up! Love the yellow…! 😉
My daughter played Yellow on the piano at her brothers wedding, and I loved it, so I’m sure I’ll love your version of yellow too.
would you believe i never saw that series???? can’t wait to see your beautiful home decked out for spring.
Thanks my friend! And lucky you – you get to start from day one at your leisure!!! 🙂
I think I’m the only person who hasn’t watched a single moment of Downton Abbey. I’m a TV junkie so I have so many shows to watch (and I seem to keep adding more).
Maybe one day…
Funny enough, I’m not the biggest fan of yellow (I don’t hate it but it’s not my go-to color) but from the time I was 16 my dream car was a yellow, black-topped Mustang convertible. And I bought myself one for my 30th birthday. I don’t have it anymore (I have a car that I like even BETTER now – it’s a transformer – hardtop convertible with a sunroof – coolest thing ever) but I LOVED that yellow car. Not sure why I had wanted the yellow one over any other color – but it really spoke to me. Very eye catching car.
I was obsessed with a white on white cabriolet VW convertible and eventually bought one for myself. I reluctantly gave it up when I had the kids — a sad day! 🙂
Oh I loved Downton Abbey so much. I feel your envy tho 🙂
BTW I’ve been looking for a bag like this for ages. Where is it from?
I purchased the bag at Target. It was a few months back, but worth checking to see if they still have some. I keep spotting the same pattern on backpacks around the city and have assumed they’re from Target too!
